The Amicitia France-Canada Monument
Ms. Marie-France Lalonde (Orléans, Lib.) :
Mr. Speaker, on the occasion of the celebrations commemorating Remembrance Day, I participated, as President of the Canada-France Interparliamentary Association, in the annual Remembrance Day ceremony for the community of France in Beechwood.
In tribute to the bonds of friendship that unite our two countries beyond interparliamentary relations, the ceremony took place on the site where the commemorative monument of the Monument Amicitia France-Canada association, including the fundraising campaign, will be erected. will be launched tomorrow at the French Embassy.
Not only will this monument be a symbol of friendship and mutual aid, but it would also confirm and immortalize the long common history of Canada and France on the battlefield. The long-standing friendship between our two countries remains strong today and this monument will serve as a reminder for generations to come.
